About Us
RailRustic is a Family-Run Business Based in Central Alberta, Canada.
All of our products are handcrafted and uniquely created from repurposed railway material. RailRustic offers one-of-a-kind garden and home decor items. We spend our extra time collecting unused railroad spikes and material from across Alberta and BC. Each piece is hand made by cutting, bending, heating and welding the collected steel material. Our mission is to create quality unique products, while cleaning up the unused railroad material that is left behind on our magnificent historic railroad.
A Little About the Metal Artist.
Aaron Knight is a welder by trade and has been working in the oil and gas industry for the past 15 years. He currently resides with his family in the Rocky Mountain House, Alberta area. Aaron spent his first 23 years on Vancouver Island, B.C. an avid fisherman, hockey player, and swimmer, and spent most of his summers as a child on Lake Cowichan. He was constantly picking up odd jobs from a young age, from mushroom picking, to refereeing hockey and cutting lawns. He ended up working in the saw mills on the island before travelling to Alberta to work in the oil and gas industry. It is here where he achieved his Journeyman Red Seal certification, started his family and now calls home. With the decline of available jobs in the oil and gas industry, Aaron's interests have recently shifted into the metal art world, specifically railway spike art and decor.
